RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Security forces killed eight Indian-sponsored militants in three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted on October 17 following reports about the presence of militants associated with Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan.
In the Panjpai area of Quetta district, security personnel foiled an attempt by militants to establish a roadblock to disrupt local traffic, killing five of them, the ISPR said.
In a separate operation in Nushki district, security forces raided a suspected militant hideout. Two militants were killed following an exchange of fire, while weapons and ammunition were recovered, according to the statement.
In Khuzdar district, security forces targeted another suspected hideout, killing one militant. The operation also led to the recovery of 490 kilogrammes of explosives, the ISPR said.
The military’s media wing added that sanitisation operations were under way in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.
The ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign under Vision Azm-i-Istehkam would continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
