PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - A three-member committee probing the Peshawar school tragedy has submitted its report to the Peshawar Commissioner, recommending the cancellation of the registration of the affected school, according to sources.
The committee members visited the accident site and the hospital as part of their investigation. Sources said the school was registered in 2026 and had an enrolment of 380 students.
The incident has also highlighted gaps in the oversight of unsafe school buildings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to reports, no institution in the province currently has the authority to inspect and seal dilapidated school buildings. The authority was withdrawn from the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Sources further revealed that around 12,000 school buildings across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are in dilapidated condition, while three additional school buildings in Peshawar are reportedly rundown.
In response to the situation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish inspection committees to examine the condition of private school buildings across the province.
