ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.63 per litre while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel by 31 paisa for the next pricing period, according to an official notification.
The revised prices will take effect on Friday (October 16), offering some relief to petrol consumers while slightly increasing the cost of diesel.
Under the new rates, petrol will cost Rs390.23 per litre, down from Rs393.86, while high-speed diesel will rise to Rs396.96 per litre from Rs396.65.
The Petroleum Division announced the adjustment following a review by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
According to the Petroleum Division, the revised ex-depot prices reflect movements in international petrol and diesel markets. Changes in global product prices, Platts rates, premiums and other associated costs were taken into account when determining the new rates.
