Petrol price rises by Rs1.20, diesel drops 17 paisa per litre

Petrol price rises by Rs1.20 to Rs393.86 per litre, while diesel falls 17 paisa to Rs396.65 under the latest revision.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Petrol prices have increased while diesel has become slightly cheaper under the latest fuel price revision effective from Thursday (October 15).

Petrol has become Rs1.20 per litre more expensive, taking its new price to Rs393.86 per litre.

In contrast, high-speed diesel has fallen by 17 paisa per litre, bringing its rate down to Rs396.65 per litre.

Following the latest changes, the price difference between the two fuels stands at Rs2.79 per litre, with diesel remaining more expensive than petrol.

The latest revision follows the introduction of a daily fuel pricing mechanism, under which petroleum prices can be adjusted in response to changes in international oil markets.

The system uses a seven-day average of international prices, alongside other relevant factors, to determine revised rates. This allows fluctuations in global markets to be reflected more frequently in domestic fuel prices.
