Azma Bokhari accuses PTI of using old videos to misrepresent protests in Peshawar, Islamabad

Azma Bokhari accuses PTI of sharing misleading protest videos from Jamshoro and Jantar Mantar, while defending emergency rule and criticising the party's KP governance.

LAHORE (DunyaNews) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of circulating fake videos linked to protests in Peshawar and Islamabad, claiming that footage from unrelated incidents was presented as scenes from the demonstrations.

In a post on social media platform X, Bokhari said an old video of a boiler in Jamshoro had been falsely attributed to the protest in Peshawar. She also claimed that Indian national Ashok Swain had linked footage of a protest at Jantar Mantar to the demonstration in Islamabad.

Criticising PTI over the alleged use of misleading footage, Bokhari said the party had a “fake leadership, fake revolution and fake protests”. In a sarcastic remark, she added that the party should hold a rally on the moon next time and use a video from NASA.

Bokhari further defended the imposition of emergency rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that emergency measures were necessary in a province where, according to her, militants were safe under the provincial government, police were unarmed and the public had been left at their mercy.

She also criticised the provincial chief minister, alleging a lack of respect for the national anthem and flag, and described such conduct as hateful.

Questioning PTI's performance during its 13 years in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bokhari asked what the party had delivered to the province. She said the PTI government's treatment of the people of KP was evident.
