Faisal Karim Kundi chairs the first KP Advisory Council meeting following emergency rule, focusing on security, anti-corruption measures and tourism promotion.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The first meeting of the 11-member Advisory Council, chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, was held to discuss the province’s key challenges, law and order situation, public safety, anti-corruption measures and promotion of tourism.

During the meeting, participants expressed their commitment to addressing the challenges facing the province, improving security, protecting citizens and supporting economic development through tourism.

Welcoming the participants, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said it was the council’s first meeting and that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would face several challenges in the coming days.

He urged council members to perform their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and sincerity, and to present effective recommendations for the province’s improvement.

Security and Public Safety Top Priorities

The governor said maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety were the government’s foremost priorities.

He said steps would be taken to rid the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of terrorism, while the capacity of the provincial police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) would also be strengthened.

Kundi stressed that improving security would require coordinated efforts and effective measures to address the province’s ongoing challenges.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Corruption

The governor emphasised a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, saying all relevant institutions must fulfil their responsibilities effectively.

He said the public had placed its trust in the members of the Advisory Council and urged them to demonstrate their commitment through their performance and deliver results that meet public expectations.

Tourism Promotion and Provincial Development

Highlighting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s natural resources, Kundi said efforts would be made to promote tourism and utilise the province’s potential for development.

He stressed that all relevant stakeholders must work together to establish peace, stability and prosperity across the province.

The governor expressed confidence that the Advisory Council would contribute to resolving provincial issues and improving public welfare through cooperation and practical recommendations.

He reiterated that the council would play an active role in addressing the challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and working towards the betterment of its people.
