ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has appointed Dr Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan as the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, issuing the first notification following the imposition of an emergency in the province.
According to the notification issued on Sunday, Dr Fakhr Alam’s appointment takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further orders.
Dr Fakhr Alam is a Grade-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). Before his new assignment, he was serving as secretary in the Power Division of the federal Ministry of Energy.
He belongs to Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The federal government issued the appointment notification on October 11, 2026.
