KURRAM (Dunya News) – Security forces killed 12 Khwarij and Afghan Taliban personnel while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram district on October 10, 2026, according to a security statement.
The statement said security forces detected a group of Khwarij attempting to cross from Afghanistan into Pakistan along the international border. Troops effectively thwarted the infiltration attempt, while Afghan Taliban posts opened fire to support the infiltrators.
Vigilant troops responded with precise engagement, killing 12 Khwarij and Afghan Taliban personnel. During the intense exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman, 40, a resident of Ghizer district, fought gallantly and was martyred.

The statement said the incident once again supported Pakistan’s position that the Afghan Taliban regime had failed to prevent terrorist organisations from using Afghan soil and had instead facilitated and patronised cross-border terrorism. It added that the regime had consistently failed to fulfil its international counterterrorism obligations.
Security forces remain committed to defending the country’s borders, the statement said, adding that a sanitisation operation was under way to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khwarij present in the area.
It further said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
The statement said the sacrifices of security personnel further reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and its frontiers.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for successfully thwarting a terrorist infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border in the Kurram district, eliminating 12 Khawarij and Afghan Taliban.
