RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Security forces and the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan have foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition from Afghanistan during a joint operation under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, security sources said on Sunday.
According to the sources, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Pishin district, disrupting a plan to transport ammunition from Afghanistan.
During a raid on a warehouse in the Saranan area of Pishin, the forces intercepted a vehicle loaded with weapons and ammunition, the sources said.
The recovered weapons included three rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, four light machine guns, a machine gun, hand grenades, rockets and a large quantity of ammunition.
A search operation is still underway in the area to check for the possible presence of terrorist elements, according to security sources.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan and eliminating terrorism.
