ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to complete the Margalla Road extension to the Motorway and Sangjani Interchange projects by December 31, ordering construction work to be accelerated.
Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, visited the ongoing projects and reviewed progress on the development work.
During the visit, the interior minister directed the relevant authorities to continue construction in double shifts and speed up work to ensure both projects are completed within the stipulated deadline.
He said the projects would provide Islamabad residents with an alternative route to the Motorway, improving travel convenience for commuters.
Naqvi also instructed the deputy commissioner to remove all encroachments within a week and directed officials to immediately address any obstacles hindering the projects’ completion.
Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) briefed the minister on the progress of the construction work.
According to the briefing, the stretch from Margalla Road to Sangjani Interchange spans 2.7 kilometres and includes an underpass and an interchange.
The minister directed the authorities to utilise all available resources to complete the projects on time and ensure that construction work faced no delays.
