WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - The US military is planning a three-day campaign of intensive strikes against Iran, although President Donald Trump has yet to make a final decision on launching fresh attacks, according to a report by The New York Times.
The proposed operation would target Iran’s stockpiles of missiles and drones.
Iranian energy infrastructure and command centres belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could also be among the potential targets, the newspaper reported.
According to the report, Trump has rejected five proposals for military strikes against Iran and Yemen’s Houthis over the past several months, reflecting continued uncertainty over the administration’s approach to the region.

The newspaper also reported that Iran has rebuilt and strengthened its missile and drone capabilities since the end of the war.
This has reportedly made it increasingly difficult for the United States to protect its military bases across the region from potential Iranian attacks.
The report further claimed that Iran had targeted 13 ships since September, while Washington had refrained from responding to those incidents.
The reported military planning comes amid continuing concerns over regional security and the risk of further escalation.
