The Federal Constitutional Court will hear Bushra Bibi’s bail and sentence-related case and a petition challenging KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s appointment on October 15.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled hearings on cases concerning Bushra Bibi’s bail in the £190 million case and a petition challenging the appointment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

The court will hear Bushra Bibi’s case on Oct. 15 before a two-member bench comprising Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi.

Bushra Bibi’s legal team had approached the Federal Constitutional Court seeking suspension of her sentence in the £190 million case. The application was filed through her lawyer, Salman Safdar, following the High Court’s decision.

Separately, the court has also fixed for hearing a petition challenging the appointment of KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear the case on Oct. 15.

Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat has challenged Afridi’s appointment as chief minister. The petition contends that a convicted person does not have the authority to nominate an individual for a public office.
