Pakistan stocks close lower as KSE-100 index falls 339 points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed in negative territory on Monday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling 339 points to 170,425.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed lower on Monday as selling pressure pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index down by 339 points.

The index settled at 170,425 points, after reaching an intraday high of 171,126 points and a low of 170,120 points.

Trading remained mixed across the broader market, with shares of 569 companies changing hands during the session.

Of these, 181 stocks gained, while 267 declined, reflecting a predominantly negative trend at the close.

Trading activity remained substantial, with around 420 million shares exchanged at a total value of approximately Rs17 billion.

The KSE-100 had started the week amid continued investor activity, but the benchmark was unable to sustain gains during the session and ultimately closed in the red.

Market participants will be watching the next sessions for developments affecting investor sentiment and the direction of the benchmark index.
