LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – The Lahore High Court disposed of 6,473 cases between September 21 and 25, 2026, against 3,415 cases filed during the same five-day period.
The figures cover the principal seat in Lahore and the court’s three regional benches in Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur.
According to the data released by the Lahore High Court, nearly twice as many cases were disposed of as were filed during the five-day period, reflecting a higher disposal rate across the court and its regional benches.
Bench-wise data
The principal seat in Lahore received 1,957 cases and disposed of 3,301 during the period under review. The Multan Bench recorded 761 new cases and disposed of 1,877.
The Rawalpindi Bench received 352 cases and disposed of 409, while the Bahawalpur Bench recorded 345 new cases and disposed of 886.
The figures also provide a breakdown according to the nature of cases. A total of 352 civil cases were filed during the five days, while 664 were disposed of.
In criminal cases, 1,289 were filed and 2,514 were disposed of. The court also received 30 tax-related cases and disposed of 102 such cases.
Meanwhile, 1,739 writ petitions were filed and 3,178 were disposed of. Five commercial cases were filed during the period, while 15 were disposed of.
Daily figures
The daily figures showed that 376 cases were filed and 765 disposed of on September 21. On September 22, the court received 442 cases and disposed of 734.
On September 23, 491 cases were filed while 725 were disposed of. The following day, 386 cases were filed and 815 were disposed of.
On September 25, the court recorded 262 new cases and disposed of an equal number.
The Lahore High Court said the increase in the pace of case disposal was linked to policies introduced by Chief Justice Justice Aalia Neelum to ensure the timely provision of justice to litigants.
