NAROWAL (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said peace and political stability are essential for sustaining Pakistan’s economic recovery and attracting foreign investment.
Speaking to the media, Iqbal said no foreign investor would invest in a country facing unrest, political uncertainty and street agitation.
He said young people should be equipped with modern skills in universities and laboratories rather than being brought onto the streets, adding that Pakistan must prepare its youth for the era of artificial intelligence through digital skills and technology.
The minister described the political situation as a contest between two approaches, alleging that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was promoting confrontation while his government advocated development, education and digital skills.

Iqbal urged political parties to resolve disputes through dialogue and democratic institutions, saying political instability could undermine the economic gains achieved over the past two years.
He also alleged that Pakistan’s enemies were seeking to exploit political divisions and fund terrorism, warning that further instability would ultimately affect ordinary citizens and young people rather than political leaders.
Iqbal said political disputes should be fought in courts and parliament, adding that he and other leaders had faced imprisonment during the PTI government but pursued their cases through legal and parliamentary channels.
He rejected PTI’s characterization of its founder as a political prisoner, saying he was being held following a court conviction in a case involving 190 million pounds.
