QUETTA (Dunya News) – An overnight attack on the residence of Dera Bugti District Council Chairman Wadera Ghulam Nabi Shambani in Balochistan was repelled, with 13 terrorists reportedly killed in the ensuing clash.
The incident took place in Beaker, an area of North Dera Bugti, where members of the Bugti Peace Force engaged the attackers in an extended exchange of fire. According to tribal sources, the fighting continued throughout the night in the Shaheed Fazal Khan sub-division.
The attackers targeted the residence of Wadera Ghulam Nabi Shambani, chairman of the Dera Bugti District Council, in the area described as the home district of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. The Bugti Peace Force, operating under the supervision of Wadera Hidayat Shambani, responded to the assault.
Tribal sources said the exchange of fire began during the night and continued for several hours. The attackers reportedly attempted to flee the area after coming under pressure from the peace force, but their escape was prevented.
The sources said the attackers were pursued after they attempted to withdraw from the scene, resulting in the deaths of 13 terrorists. The confrontation also resulted in casualties among the Bugti Peace Force. One member was killed in the firing, while three others sustained injuries. The injured personnel were subsequently transferred to Karachi for medical treatment.

According to tribal sources, the rapid response by members of the Bugti Peace Force prevented what they described as a major terrorist plan in the area. The force continued its response after the initial attack, pursuing the assailants as they attempted to escape.
The incident comes amid continued counter-terrorism operations across Balochistan. Separately, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Friday that 33 militants had been killed in counter-terrorism operations across the province since September 21, including 22 during Operation Shaban and 11 in an intelligence-based operation in Nushki.
