ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A meeting of opposition leaders was held in Islamabad to review preparations for the planned long march and discuss the prevailing political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to sources, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Barrister Gohar and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar participated in the meeting. The participants discussed arrangements for the long march and exchanged views on the latest developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Gohar called for dialogue, saying the ‘use of force’ against political figures was not the appropriate course of action.
He said the opposition did not want the public and law-enforcement personnel to come face to face.
Barrister Gohar also said that Sohail Afridi would continue to serve as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He maintained that political parties should not be removed from the political arena, warning that such steps could have serious consequences.
Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi challenged any move to impose Governor’s Rule in the province. He said his government had come to power with a public mandate and would not allow what he described as any conspiracy against it.
