ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), citing fluctuations in international oil prices, with the revised rates taking effect from September 25.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been cut by Re0.84 per litre, while HSD has been reduced by Rs2.63 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will be sold at Rs389.28 per litre, while the new price of HSD has been set at Rs412.12 per litre.
The revised prices will remain applicable for the period specified in the notification.

Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has started publishing daily petroleum prices on its website as part of efforts to improve transparency and enable international oil price fluctuations to be reflected more quickly in domestic fuel prices.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices are calculated using a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practice.
The latest reduction is expected to provide some relief to consumers, with the new fuel prices coming into effect from September 25.
