(Web Desk) - Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 31 runs in the third-place playoff to secure the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday.
After winning the toss at Korogi Sports Park, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted 145 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
Opener Gull Feroza contributed 31 runs, while captain Fatima Sana played a key innings, scoring 45 off 30 deliveries with three fours and three sixes.
For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter, Shorna Akter and Ritu Moni claimed two wickets each, while Sanjida Akter took one wicket.
Chasing 146, Bangladesh managed 114 for seven in 20 overs. Pakistan’s Umme Hani led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Fatima Sana, Tasmiya Rubab, Nashra Sandhu and Ayesha Zafar picked up one wicket each.
The victory earned Pakistan the bronze medal after the team was eliminated from the gold-medal contest following an eight-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in the semifinal.
Sri Lanka and India are scheduled to face each other in the gold-medal match later in the tournament.
