LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought a reply from police on a petition seeking permission for a meeting between former federal minister Hammad Azhar and his family members and lawyers.
Azhar had reportedly remained in hiding for nearly three years and was wanted by police in several cases registered in Lahore and other cities.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi issued notices to the police after hearing a petition filed by Azhar’s mother, Ishrat Azhar, and his wife.
The petition requested the court to allow Hammad Azhar’s family members and legal counsel to meet him.

The court has sought a reply from the police and adjourned further proceedings until September 28.
Hammad Azhar was arrested in Multan a few days ago and was handed over to Lahore Police. Lahore Police formally recorded his arrest in the May 9-related cases.
