Imran Khan's sisters Uzma and Noreen detained for 30 days under 3-MPO

PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi were detained for 30 days under the MPO in Lahore, following Aleema Khan’s detention.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, have been detained for 30 days under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) on the orders of the Lahore deputy commissioner.

The detention was carried out on a police recommendation amid concerns over a possible threat to public order.

Sources said police detained Uzma and Noreen, along with their nephews, from the residence of their sister Aleema Khan. They were reportedly transferred in an armoured vehicle.

The detentions come as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for nationwide demonstrations, including a planned march towards Islamabad on September 27. The party is seeking the release of Imran Khan and calling for the supremacy of the Constitution.

Earlier, sources said Aleema Khan’s two sons, Shahrez Khan and Sher Shah, had also been detained in Lahore.

Their lawyer, Rana Mudassir, later confirmed that both men had been released after a brief period in custody.

Mudassir said Noreen and Uzma were moved to Kot Lakhpat Jail at around 2am.

Aleema Khan was reportedly detained on Sunday and later transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail after she was taken into custody while heading to a gym in Lahore.

Noreen had earlier told Geo News that Aleema was detained as she was leaving her residence and that she had been informed that she would be taken to Kot Lakhpat Jail.

“I do not understand why they are so concerned that even women are being arrested,” Noreen said.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan denounced Aleema’s detention, describing it as “the first step towards worsening the situation”.
