LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said cancer patients in Multan will now receive free treatment, following the expansion of the facility beyond Lahore.
In a statement, Bukhari said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had inaugurated the Coblation and Cancer Centre in Multan, where patients suffering from cancer at every stage would be treated free of cost.
She said cancer patients would not be given lengthy waiting dates for treatment, while the treatment process for a patient would be completed within 60 minutes.
Bukhari described the cancer treatment facility as a major initiative by Maryam Nawaz in Punjab’s healthcare sector.
The Punjab information minister said Pakistan’s largest 1,000-bed Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital had also been completed in Lahore. According to her, the hospital is a state-of-the-art project and, like the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), it would become a symbol of Pakistan’s identity around the world.
Speaking about political matters, Bukhari said Maryam Nawaz had no competition or comparison with any provincial government. She said those unable to compete with Maryam Nawaz on performance were resorting to personal attacks to mislead the public.
Bukhari further said that some people’s politics depended entirely on Maryam Nawaz, while she was working to transform Punjab into a modern and developed province.
Criticising the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Punjab information minister said the chief minister of one province was attempting to move against the federal government after facing difficulties from one place to another.
Bukhari alleged that the failed May 9 and November 26 uprisings had already become a burden for the PTI founder and claimed that a third uprising was being planned for September 27.
She appealed to parents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to keep their children away from what she described as the PTI founder’s alleged uprisings. Bukhari said the PTI founder’s own children were living a luxurious life in London while he wanted to use children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for his political objectives.
