PUC announces Day of Condemnation on Friday

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and Secretary-General International Tazeem-e-Haramain Sharifain Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi on Wednesday announced that the upcoming Friday would be observed across the country as a ‘Day of Condemnation’ against attempts to target Makkah al Mukarramah and attacks against the holy sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a press conference here, Ashrafi appealed to religious scholars, leaders, preachers and Imams from all schools of thought to condemn the attacks in their Friday sermons and highlight the unanimous position of the Muslim Ummah regarding the sanctity, security and protection of Haramain Sharifain.

He said Makkah al Mukarramah and Madinah al Munawwarah are at the heart of the faith and belief of Muslims, while the land of Haramain Sharifain represents a red line for the entire Muslim Ummah.

“Muslims stand with the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia,” he said, stressing that there could be no compromise on the sanctity, security and protection of Haramain Sharifain.

The press conference was also attended by Maulana Zulfiqar Ahmed, Maulana Zahid Mansoor, Maulana Qasim Qasmi, Maulana Abu Bakr Sabri, Maulana Afzal Shah, Maulana Abdul Ghaffar and other religious scholars and leaders.
