CDF Munir, Indonesian Navy chief discuss regional security

Indonesian Navy Chief Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali meets Asim Munir at GHQ as Pakistan and Indonesia reaffirm stronger defence cooperation.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali called on Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation, the military’s media wing said.

According to ISPR, both sides expressed satisfaction over the existing military-to-military relations and reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in professional training, defence collaboration and joint exercises.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding and brotherly relations with Indonesia, particularly in the defence and security domains.

Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions towards regional peace and stability, ISPR said.
