ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has extended the deadline allowing Umrah pilgrims to travel to Saudi Arabia without vaccination.
According to the focal person, Umrah pilgrims can now travel to Saudi Arabia without vaccination until September 25.
The Border Health Services said the implementation of the NADRA Integrated Vaccination Card has been extended until 10am on September 25. A notification regarding the extension has also been issued.
Sources in the Border Health Services said the Pakistan Airports Authority had not taken the necessary steps for implementing the NADRA Integrated Vaccination Card.
The authority had been asked to provide three rooms at Jinnah Terminal for vaccination facilities. The NADRA vaccination card had been made mandatory for Umrah pilgrims and passengers travelling to Gulf countries.
However, only one vaccination centre was established at Karachi Airport for thousands of passengers.
The vaccination card was scheduled to become mandatory from midnight tonight. The Pakistan Aviation Authority has said the requirement for a digital vaccination card for international passengers should be implemented in phases.
