LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied reports that a report has been prepared against national team batter Imam-ul-Haq, saying no report has so far been prepared against any player.
In a statement, the PCB said reports regarding a report against Imam-ul-Haq were incorrect and had no basis in fact.
The board said investigations into dressing-room leaks and other related matters were being conducted by the relevant authorities. However, no report had been prepared against any player at this stage.
The PCB urged that speculation and unverified information emerging during the investigation should not be presented as established facts. It said any final conclusion would be reached only on the basis of information gathered during the investigation.
Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan had appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency over alleged dressing-room leaks. Both players were questioned about the alleged disclosure of sensitive dressing-room information during the England series and matters related to their mobile phones.
Investigations, including the forensic examination of the players' mobile phones, are still underway. The PCB reiterated that no report has so far been prepared against any player.
Rizwan has also said he is fully cooperating with the investigation and may hold a news conference on the matter after the inquiry is completed.
