KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, along with Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, made a surprise visit to various police stations, during which he suspended the entire staff, including the SHO of Aziz Bhatti Police Station.
All the staff of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station were also suspended, and the staff present without uniform at Firozabad police station were also suspended. The interior minister asked the citizens present at the police stations about their problems and ordered them to be resolved immediately.
He also spoke to people imprisoned in various cases about the behaviour of the police and other issues, and said that he would visit the police stations again.
He said that police personnel must wear uniforms to perform their duties. The job of the police is to serve and protect the public, and no negligence will be tolerated, the minister warned.
