KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its decline for a second consecutive session on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling 993 points and slipping below the 173,000-point level.
The market remained under selling pressure throughout the second trading session of the week, adding to the sharp losses recorded a day earlier.
During early trading, the KSE-100 Index dropped by more than 100 points to around 173,377 points. Selling pressure persisted as the session progressed, pushing the benchmark further into negative territory.
By the close of trading, the index had declined 993 points to settle at 172,642 points.
The latest fall came after the KSE-100 Index suffered a much steeper decline in the previous session, when it lost 1,692 points to close at 173,636 points.
Taken together, the benchmark has shed approximately 2,685 points over the past two trading sessions, reflecting sustained pressure on equities.
The continued downturn has also resulted in losses to investors as market capitalisation came under pressure.
The latest session saw the benchmark surrender the psychologically important 173,000-point level, with investors now closely watching whether the market can regain stability in upcoming trading sessions.
