DUBAI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Women’s team will face Hong Kong today in a crucial Group A match of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, with the result carrying significant importance for Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the semifinals.
The Group A match between Pakistan and Hong Kong will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with the game scheduled to begin at 7:30pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Led by Fatima Sana, Pakistan began their campaign with a victory over Thailand but suffered a seven-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in their second match. Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 runs against India.
Despite the defeat, Pakistan remain second in Group A with two points, while Hong Kong are at the bottom of the group after losing both of their matches.
Victory in today’s match is particularly important for Pakistan as it would strengthen their position in the race for a semifinal place. Hong Kong, meanwhile, will also be determined to secure their first victory of the tournament.
Hong Kong suffered a heavy 137-run defeat against India in their previous match, while they lost their opening game to Thailand by six runs.
Eight teams are participating in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the semifinals after the group stage. The tournament final will be played in Dubai on September 13.
