LAHORE (Dunya News) - Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms lashed Lahore and several other parts of Punjab on Sunday, bringing relief from days of intense heat and humidity.
In Lahore, rain continued across several areas, including Mall Road, Abbott Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Canal Road, Gulberg, Liberty and Kalma Chowk. Residents welcomed the change in weather, although electricity supply was disrupted in several areas.
Muridke and adjoining areas also received heavy thunderstorms. The downpour provided much-needed relief to people who had been enduring hot and humid weather for several days. Several LESCO feeders tripped even before the rain began, affecting power supply in different areas.
Kahna and surrounding localities were also hit by heavy rain accompanied by cool winds and thunderstorms. The weather turned pleasant, while electricity supply was suspended in various areas shortly after the rain started.
In Gojra, strong winds were followed by light rain, bringing a noticeable improvement in the weather.
Kasur city and nearby areas also experienced intermittent rain from the morning. Several electricity feeders tripped during the downpour, disrupting power supply in parts of the city and surrounding areas.
