(Web Desk) - A Pakistani national, identified as 64-year-old Shaukat Aftab, has won a major lottery prize of 15 million dirhams in Abu Dhabi.
Lottery officials contacted Aftab by phone from Pakistan to inform him about his win, but he initially suspected the call was a scam and did not believe the news.
The organisers then asked him to verify his ticket number through the lottery’s official website. After checking the details, Aftab realised that he had indeed won the prize.
According to the organisers, Aftab had been regularly purchasing lottery tickets for the past 15 years before finally hitting the jackpot.
In the same draw, four Indian nationals and one Bangladeshi participant also won prizes of 100,000 dirhams each.
