LONDON (Web Desk) - A 22-year-old cricketer from Surrey may be on the brink of securing a remarkable Guinness World Record after running 62 miles (100km) before bowling a single delivery.
Sam Bodoano, from Worplesdon near Guildford, began his extraordinary challenge at Lord’s Cricket Ground in north London on Saturday.
After running for approximately 14 hours, he arrived at Valley End Cricket Club in Woking on Sunday, completing a journey that pushed him to the limits of endurance.
Bodoano undertook the challenge in full cricket whites and carried a cricket ball throughout the entire run.
His gruelling effort culminated in a cricket match, where he delivered the opening ball to his father.
The attempt was made to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cricket bowling run-up by a male.

However, the record will not be official until Guinness World Records completes its verification process.
Bodoano has submitted his evidence, which will now be reviewed by the organisation before a final decision is made.
The remarkable challenge was not simply about sporting achievement.
Bodoano also used the event to raise money for cancer charity The Ruth Strauss Foundation, collecting almost £6,000.
Speaking after completing the run, Bodoano admitted that the experience had left him exhausted and short of sleep, but said the cause had made the pain worthwhile.
His journey began before dawn at the historic home of English cricket and continued through London before taking him into Surrey.
Despite the fatigue and long hours on the road, he kept hold of the cricket ball and maintained the conditions required for his record attempt.
