LAHORE (Dunya News) - Registration for the preparation of kite-flying materials for Basant 2027 in Lahore will begin on September 5, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz has announced.
In a message on X, the deputy commissioner said permits would be mandatory for manufacturing kite-flying materials across Lahore, with only individuals issued no-objection certificates (NOCs) allowed to produce the materials.
District administration teams will closely monitor the production of approved materials. Only permitted kite sizes, cotton string and approved materials for kite strings will be allowed.
Ijaz said the administration would ensure a safe Basant in Lahore, stressing that the use of approved kite sizes and cotton string would be essential for ensuring public safety.
He added that registration for the manufacturing of kite-flying materials would commence on September 5, with the administration seeking to revive the traditional spirit of Basant under strict safety regulations.
