PCB mulls strict action against Imam-ul-Haq, Rizwan over England Test performance

The board is planning to establish a high-level inquiry committee to investigate matters related to Imam-ul-Haq

(Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering strict disciplinary action against opener Imam-ul-Haq and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan following their release from the national squad during the England tour, sources said.

Sources said the board is planning to establish a high-level inquiry committee to investigate matters related to Imam-ul-Haq.

The opener could face a ban of one to two years if an investigation confirms allegations that he had previously used a fake injury, sources added.

Meanwhile, the PCB is also reportedly unhappy with Rizwan’s conduct and has serious disciplinary concerns regarding the wicketkeeper-batter.

Rizwan is expected to be called before the board for questioning in the coming days, according to sources. His selection for a Pakistan team in the near future is considered unlikely.

Sources said Rizwan could also face disciplinary proceedings depending on the outcome of the board’s review.
