(Web Desk) - The much-awaited first trailer of Inspector Jamshed: The Secret Parchment, based on the popular Urdu novels of renowned writer Ishtiaq Ahmed, has been released, offering audiences their first extended look at the upcoming film.
The trailer has sparked excitement among fans who grew up reading about Inspector Jamshed and his family, bringing one of the most recognisable detective characters in Pakistani Urdu fiction closer to the big screen.
The film stars Omair Rana as Inspector Jamshed, while Ahad Raza Mir portrays Behzaad, the story’s principal antagonist. The movie is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2027.
The plot revolves around Jamshed’s investigation into a string of murders linked to a mysterious parchment. The trailer teases an action-packed mystery featuring car chases, gun battles and a secretive organisation, alongside a more personal family storyline.
The story also explores tensions within Jamshed’s family after his daughter is kidnapped by Behzaad, putting his relationship with his wife, Shakeela, under severe strain.
Anoushay Abbasi plays Shakeela, while veteran actor Asif Raza Mir appears as Jamshed’s close friend Khan Rehman. Mir is also associated with the project as a co-producer.
Jamshed’s three children — Mehmood, Farooq and Farzana — are portrayed by Ravel Imran, along with siblings Ahmed and Aline Harkous.
The production was filmed in Abu Dhabi, with several sequences shot at prominent locations including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the surrounding desert landscape. The international setting gives the Pakistani production a distinctly expansive cinematic feel.
