QUETTA — Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi on Monday inaugurated a newly established facilitation centre at the Balochistan High Court, describing improved public access to judicial services as an important step towards faster and more effective delivery of justice.
Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mulakhail, judges of the Supreme Court and BHC, senior lawyers and judicial officers attended the inauguration ceremony.
Chief Justice Afridi inspected different sections of the facility and reviewed the services being made available to litigants and lawyers.
Speaking at the ceremony, the CJP said visiting Balochistan was always a source of pleasure for him and stressed the need to make judicial services more accessible, particularly for people living far from major urban centres.
The newly established centre is designed to provide multiple court-related services at one location, reducing the difficulties faced by litigants and lawyers in completing routine judicial procedures.
Services including filing, obtaining certified copies, accessing information and other essential court-related facilities will be available through the centre.
Justice Afridi said he wanted similar facilities to eventually reach every district and tehsil of Balochistan so citizens from remote areas could have easier access to the justice system.
He also announced a decision to establish justice funds and expressed his commitment to expanding such facilitation centres across districts throughout the country.
The initiative is expected to reduce the time and expenses incurred by litigants while making interaction with the judicial system more convenient and efficient.
The Chief Justice also paid tribute to the martyrs of August 8, saying the best way to honour their sacrifices was to carry forward their struggle and commitment.
The establishment of the facilitation centre represents part of broader efforts to make court services more citizen-friendly and improve the efficiency of judicial administration.
For Balochistan, where vast distances can make access to institutions particularly difficult for residents of remote districts, expansion of such facilities could reduce practical barriers faced by people seeking judicial services.
The initiative also reflects an increased emphasis on bringing routine court services closer to citizens rather than requiring litigants to navigate multiple offices and procedures.
