Khawaja Asif orders more search counters at Lahore airport

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif reviewed passenger facilities and development projects at Lahore airport, directing additional search counters for women and urging timely completion of ongoing works.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif visited Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and reviewed passenger facilities, ongoing development projects and measures aimed at improving the travel experience.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the defence minister directed the establishment of additional search counters to ensure faster clearance for female passengers and reduce their waiting time.

Khawaja Asif inspected the newly constructed immigration area and ongoing development works at the airport. He also reviewed passenger facilitation arrangements at the international and domestic departure areas.

The defence minister stressed the need to maintain high standards of passenger services at Lahore airport and reviewed various upgradation and renovation projects being carried out to improve facilities for travellers.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, Khawaja Asif directed that the expansion of the departure drop-off lane be completed on a priority basis to help reduce traffic congestion.

While reviewing progress on the ongoing construction in the domestic departure area, the minister stressed the need for timely completion of the project and ensuring maximum convenience for passengers.
