Khawaja Asif says PTI wants chaos thru false narrative on Imran's health

Asif said Imran's sister, a doctor who met him alongside other medical professionals, had provided a clear assessment of his health.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said the PTI supporters siting abroad want to see agitation, protests and politics of chaos and violence to create a reason for the change of the government and the return of the party founder.

The defence minister said the sister of PTI’s founder had said in a press conference that Imran Khan was fit and healthy.

In a statement released on social media, Khawaja Asif said the statement of the sister of the founder of PTI is definitive and decisive, but the satisfactory statement of the founder's sister and personal doctor was not liked by the supporters of the PTI siting abroad.

Asif said Imran's sister, a doctor who met him alongside other medical professionals, had provided a clear assessment of his health.

The statement at the press conference by IK’s sister, who is a doctor and met IK along with other doctors, is conclusive. She said in Urdu: “Bilkul fit, Alhamdulillah.” She even checked his blood pressure, which was perfectly normal. This clean bill of health from his sister and… https://t.co/eLheXrlZLC

“Bilkul fit, Alhamdulillah,” Asif quoted her as saying, adding that she had also checked Imran's blood pressure, which was “perfectly normal”.

Asif said the assessment had not been welcomed by Imran's supporters, particularly those overseas, who he accused of trying to create “an atmosphere of sorrow and anxiety” to trigger panic and protests.

He alleged that the aim was to create a crisis that could lead to a change of government and pave the way for Imran's political comeback.

“Their hopes have been dashed,” Asif said. He further alleged that efforts were continuing through foreign media to portray Imran's health as seriously deteriorating. A hoax they desperately need,” he said.
