HARIPUR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited the residence of Ayat Noor in Haripur and met her father, offering condolences and joining the family in prayer.
The chief minister was accompanied by local MPA and Information Minister Shafi Jan during the visit.
Speaking to the chief minister, Ayat Noor’s father thanked the people of Haripur for standing by his family during the difficult time. He called for the harshest possible punishment for those responsible and demanded that the actual perpetrator of the crime against his daughter be publicly executed.
Sohail Afridi expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, saying the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shared their grief. He said Ayat Noor was not merely the family’s child but belonged to the entire province.
The chief minister became emotional while speaking to the girl’s father and condemned the manner in which the child was allegedly treated. He assured the family of full government support and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice and made an example.
Afridi questioned the performance of the administration, saying that if children could not remain safe despite the presence of government authorities, there was little justification for keeping offices operational.
He also appealed to the courts not to provide any relief to those involved in the case and assured the family that no negligence would be tolerated during the investigation or legal proceedings.
The chief minister announced that the proposed Child Protection Bill would be named after Ayat Noor. He also said a high school in the girl’s area would be named in her memory.
At the end of the meeting, Ayat Noor’s father embraced Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and became emotional.
