WAGNER (Dunya News) - Pakistan defeated South Africa in a penalty shootout to win the 11th-place match at the Hockey World Cup in the Netherlands.
The match, played at the Wagner Hockey Stadium, remained level at the end of regulation time, forcing the contest into a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
Despite the pressure, Pakistan’s players showed remarkable composure and held their nerve to secure victory over South Africa.
The win secured Pakistan 11th place in the World Cup and also helped improve the team’s position in the FIH world rankings.
Pakistan had entered the tournament ranked 12th in the FIH world rankings. Following the victory over South Africa, the Green Shirts climbed one place to 11th.
