KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended Friday’s volatile trading session on a positive note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 373 points despite fluctuating investor sentiment during the day.

The KSE-100 Index closed at 177,696 points, maintaining its position above the 177,000 level after a mixed performance across the two trading sessions.

During the first session, buying activity pushed the benchmark index up by 446 points to close at 177,769 points.

The market, however, witnessed fluctuations during the second session as investors adjusted their positions ahead of the weekend. Despite the volatility, the index managed to retain most of its earlier gains and finished the day firmly in positive territory.

KSE-100 recovers from previous session Friday’s advance represented a recovery from the previous trading day, when the KSE-100 Index had declined by 47 points to settle at 177,322 points.

Based on the reported closing figures, the benchmark gained around 0.21% on Friday.

The positive finish indicates that buying interest remained strong enough to absorb intraday selling pressure, although the fluctuations showed investors continued to trade cautiously.

Market holds above 177,000 level The KSE-100’s ability to remain above the 177,000-point mark will remain in focus when trading resumes next week.

Investors are expected to continue monitoring domestic economic indicators, corporate developments, interest-rate expectations, the rupee’s performance and broader economic policy signals for direction.

While Friday’s gains provided a positive end to the trading week, future market direction will depend on whether buying momentum can be sustained amid changing economic and investor sentiment.
