Two ASIs die during training race in Lahore elite force centre

Sweltry weather is stated to be the reason for their death

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) died during training race at Elite Force Training Centre Bedian Road here on Thursday.

Another official was shifted to hospital as his health worsened during the race. ASI Syed Tasawar Shah of Rawalpindi Patrolling Police died while taking part in a race at the Elite Centre.

According to police sources, Tasawar Shah died due to extreme heat and humidity. Sargodha Region ASI Arshad and two officials were also shifted to the hospital due to ill health.

According to sources, ASI Muhammad Arshad, son of Muhammad Shafi, fell ill during the race while training at the Bedian Road Elite Training Centre. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he died. His body was taken to the morgue.

Two ASIs died during a race in the same day. Both ASIs died while running a four-kilometre race in the hot weather.
