ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government has announced new prices for petroleum products, reducing the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Re0.50 and Re0.19 per litre, respectively.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Re0.50 per litre to Rs342.60, while the price of diesel has been cut by Re0.19 to Rs371.61 per litre.
The revised prices will take effect from August 28, 2026, and will remain applicable for one day.

The government has been determining petroleum prices on a daily basis under the mechanism adopted by the Ministry of Petroleum for adjusting prices of petroleum products.
The latest reduction comes as the government continues to review fuel prices in line with changes in international oil prices and other relevant factors under the existing pricing mechanism.
The Petroleum Division formally issued the notification announcing the revised rates.
