QUETTA (Dunya News) - A high-level security review meeting in Balochistan has decided in principle to activate the Safe City project in Quetta and other key areas in phases, as provincial and federal authorities discussed measures aimed at strengthening peace and stability across the province.
The two-day 28th security review meeting was jointly chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Quetta Corps Commander.
Representatives of federal and provincial institutions, government departments and security forces attended the meeting, which reviewed the overall security situation and progress on earlier decisions.
Participants agreed in principle to operationalise the Safe City project in Quetta and other important areas in phases.
The initiative is expected to strengthen surveillance and improve coordination among law enforcement agencies as part of broader efforts to improve security in the province.
The meeting also discussed greater coordination between federal and provincial institutions and additional measures required for Balochistan.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to the province's development, timely completion of development projects and improved public welfare.
