RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Rawalpindi has arrested a suspect accused of defrauding citizens by promising them work visas for employment abroad and registered a case against him.
According to the FIA, suspect Umar Raza Naeem collected a total of Rs3.2 million from citizens after assuring them that he would arrange work visas for them in foreign countries.
Officials said the suspect failed to provide the promised work visas after receiving the money and also did not return the amount collected from the victims.
Acting on complaints from the affected citizens, the FIA Rawalpindi initiated proceedings, registered a case against the suspect and arrested him.
FIA officials said the suspect was being interrogated, while investigations were also underway to identify other individuals allegedly involved in the fraud and trace the related financial transactions.
