Celebrities demand justice in Hina Javed's murder case

Updated on:

Actors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Osman Khalid Butt, Iffat Omar and Samar Jafri have expressed sympathy for Hina’s family and condemned violence against women.

(Web Desk) - Celebrities have spoken out in support of Hina Javed’s family following the young woman’s death in Rawalpindi on August 20.

The case is being investigated as an alleged murder, with calls for a fair and transparent investigation.

Actors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Osman Khalid Butt, Iffat Omar and Samar Jafri have expressed sympathy for Hina’s family and condemned violence against women.

Hina, who married in 2025, had moved into her in-laws’ home. According to reports, she was found hanging from a wire noose attached to a bathroom shower. Her brother, Fahad, later registered a murder case against her husband, Asghar Imam, her father-in-law and a domestic worker. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the investigation is ongoing.

Mahira Khan reacted to the case on Instagram, questioning the circumstances of Hina’s death and offering support to her family. “What kind of world is this? What kind of so-called men are we raising?” she wrote. She also said she was with the family in whatever way they needed.

Hania Aamir and Samar Jafri shared posts from the Justice for Hina page, which has highlighted allegations made by Hina’s family. The page claims that Hina was allegedly beaten, isolated and kept in a separate room. These claims have not been independently verified.

Iffat Omar called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to take action against violence toward women. She urged the chief minister to use her position to support women seeking justice.

Osman Khalid Butt described the reported details of Hina’s death as horrifying. He said that although arrests had been made and there was public anger, similar cases had happened before. He stressed that Hina’s family should not have to spend years fighting the legal system for justice.

The response from Pakistan’s entertainment industry has brought greater attention to Hina’s case and the wider issue of violence against women.

While the investigation and court proceedings will establish the facts and responsibility, Hina’s family and supporters continue to demand justice, transparency and due process.
