MUZAFFARABAD: (Dunya News) – Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has issued a schedule for the election of speaker and deputy speaker of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
According to the schedule, nomination papers for the posts of speaker and deputy speaker will be submitted on Tuesday (today).
The election process will be completed on the same day after the scrutiny of nomination papers.
The nomination papers will be submitted from 10am to 11am. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done at 11:15am, after which the list of candidates will be released by 11:30am.
The last time for the withdrawal of nomination papers by the candidates has been fixed at 11:45am, after which the final list of candidates will be released at 12noon.
According to the schedule, the election of the speaker of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be held at 2pm, while the voting for the election of the deputy speaker will be held at 3pm in the Assembly Secretariat.
The Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly session will be held under the chairmanship of Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, in which the process of electing the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be completed.
After the oath-taking of the members of the new assembly, the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker is being considered an important stage in the government formation process
On the other hand, PML-N has also nominated its candidates for the posts of speaker and deputy speaker.
