ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest, the spokesperson said.
Both foreign ministers underscored the importance of further strengthening the close and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Dar said dialogue and diplomacy remained the only way forward to achieve peace and stability, according to the Foreign Office.

The two foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further promoting bilateral cooperation and maintaining close contacts, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar has sought urgent intervention by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to help secure the release of 10 Pakistani seafarers held captive by Somali pirates for more than four months.
Dar raised the matter during a meeting with IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez in London, where the foreign minister is undertaking a four-day visit, according to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
The deputy prime minister called for “urgent and effective institutional intervention” to facilitate the safe return of the Pakistani sailors and thanked the IMO chief for supporting efforts aimed at securing their freedom.
