MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – The elections on reserved seats for Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly are scheduled to take place here on Monday (today).
The polling will be held for the reserved seats in the AJK Assembly. The seats include five reserved for women and three for technocrats.
The withdrawal of nomination papers by the candidates for the reserved seats of the Azad Kashmir Assembly has been completed, after which 6 candidates are left for 5 reserved seats for women.
A total of 7 candidates had submitted nomination papers for the reserved seats for women. Shaheen Kausar Dar withdrew her nomination papers.
Similarly, the competition for reserved seats for women will be between Riffat Abid, Zubia Khurshid, Sehrish Qamar, Farzana Yaqoob, Maryam Idrees and Maryam Zaman.
Two candidates are in the race for a reserved seat for Ulema and Mashaikh, including Hafiz Tariq Mahmood and Muhammad Mazhar Saeed, while Syed Iftikhar Gilani and Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali will compete for a reserved seat for technocrats. The polling process will begin at 10am and continue until 1pm.
