Federal minister Rana Tanveer Hussain says the government remains open to dialogue with the opposition and urges PTI to pursue democratic politics.

MURIDKE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain on Sunday reiterated the government’s willingness to hold talks with the opposition, urging Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to adopt a democratic approach to resolving political disputes.

Speaking to the media in Muridke, the federal minister said the government believed in dialogue and wanted political issues to be settled through democratic and constitutional means.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously offered negotiations to the opposition, demonstrating the government’s willingness to address political differences through talks rather than confrontation.

“PTI should now understand that politics requires a democratic approach,” Rana Tanveer said, stressing that negotiations remained the appropriate way to resolve disagreements among political forces.

The minister said the government was prepared to engage with opposition parties and maintained that dialogue was essential for political stability.

Responding to questions about rising petroleum prices and pressure on household budgets, Rana Tanveer said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was making every possible effort to bring down the prices of petroleum products.

He acknowledged that the government was operating under difficult economic conditions and facing limited resources, but said efforts were continuing to provide relief to the public.

According to the minister, the government remained conscious of the financial difficulties faced by citizens and was exploring available options to reduce the burden of fuel costs.

His remarks come amid public concern over petroleum prices, which have a wider impact on transportation, food prices and the cost of doing business.
